Tips Treating Allergies
There is nothing worse than being a victim of beautiful blossoms,
green grasses and leafy trees. To some they trigger miserable
sneezing attacks, itchy watery eyes, and swollen sinuses.
An allergy is a disorder that occurs when the body overreacts to the
presence of a substance it thinks is a foreign invader. Allergic
reactions are caused by a variety of substances which are eaten or
inhaled. Basically an allergy is a malfunction of the immune system.
Allergies can be caused by certain foods, pollens, pets, dust mites,
and insect venoms. In infants and small children, cow's milk can
cause an allergic response. Other foods causing allergic responses
are wheat, eggs, citrus fruits, beef, veal, shellfish and nuts.

Allergies can include one or a combination of the following
symptoms: hives, which can cause itchy swollen palms; skin rashes,
which almost always itch; sneezing; runny nose; itchy watery eyes;
nasal congestion; asthma; swelling of the mouth or throat; and
diarrhea, which typically affects allergic infants.
There are several approaches for treating allergies. Here I'll list
just the few.
Avoid foods such as wheat, eggs, dairy products, caffeine,
chocolate, selfish, strawberries, tomatoes, and citrus fruits.
A natural antihistamine can be made by cutting orange peels into
small strips and soaking them in apple cider vinegar for several
hours. Drain the mixture and cook in honey until soft, keep in the
fridge and use as needed.
Beds often harbor mites that feed on dead skin cells. Wrap your
mattresses and box springs in an airtight non-cotton cover. Wash
your sheets regularly in water at lease 130°F to kill dust mites.
Though comfortable and natural, down pillows have a big minus: they
hold dust and mites, choose a washable hypoallergenic polyester
pillow instead and wash it every few weeks, in water hot enough to
kill mites.
Stuffed animals and dolls are cute and cuddly, but they also come
with baggage, they collect dust and dust mites. My recommendation is
to pack them away.
If you're allergic to your pet, it's best to keep her outside, and
always wash your hands immediately after petting her. Be sure to
bathe her once a week. If she has ear mites then treat her with
Earasil, (An animal ear hygiene formula, in a simple, one step
application for most ear problems from mites to wax to canker.)
If your sneezing spell is short and seasonal, try an
over-the-counter antihistamine. Topical nasal sprays containing
cortisone (available only by prescription) are effective for
allergies.
Herbal remedies include:
Bee Pollen may help to gradually build immunity to pollens. Blessed
Thistle helps loosen mucus and phlegm and strengthens lung tissue.
Burdock works as a blood purifier which cleans toxins through the
lymphatic system. Golden Seal can reduce nasal or congestion. (Do
not use if allergic to pollens.) Ma Huang works as a natural
antihistamine.
Keep your immune system healthy by taking
Immuzan, (essential
nutrients designed to give an energy boost to your immune system. It
includes antioxidants that enhances the production of white blood
cells, and helps the body reduce infection.)
Eat lots of high-fiber foods and drink plenty of water. There are
reports stating allergies may be caused by an excessive accumulation
of waste in the system, due to a poor diet, which can promote
inappropriate immune responses.
