With all the modern
technology that is available you would think
that heart disease was more prevalent in past
decades and has decreased in this decade, but
you would be wrong.
Heart and blood vessel
disease will take the lives of over 950,000
people this year. Heart attacks top the list
with a reported death rate of 500,000 per
year. Second on that list is150,000 deaths a
year are due to strokes. Also on the list for
reported deaths are: congestive heart failure,
high blood pressure, congenital defects, and
cardiac arrhythmias just to name a few.
Heart studies have
confirmed that diet has not only plays a major
role in heart disease prevention but it is
also the major cause of heart disease. What
was learned from the study was that smoking
habits, physical activity, and other lifestyle
factors add to the risk of getting heart
disease.
Good candidates for heart
disease come from heredity, advancing age, and
gender (premenopausal women have a lower risk
than men and older women). Both men and women
who use tobacco top the list to be at risk to
have a heart attack.
Poor diet, high blood
pressure, and high cholesterol that build up
the fatty deposit in the hearts coronary
arteries and along with obesity, you become a
good candidate for high blood pressure,
stroke, angina and heart attack.
Diabetes is a disease
that not only affects other vital organs in
the body but it also affects the blood vessels
and the heart.
If a poor diet can contribute to heart
disease, a well balanced diet can decrease the
chances of heart disease. Studies have showed
that by eating a well balanced diet play a
major role in preventing heart disease,
cancer, adult-onset diabetes and obesity.
Pasta, rice, potatoes, beans, breads, cereals,
and other legumes are the (good) carbohydrates
and along with at least 3 daily servings of
fresh fruits, and vegetables is the foundation
for a good healthy diet.
Your meat intake of
beef, fish, and chicken should only be about
10 to 12 % of your daily calories. Sugars
salt and fats should be used sparingly,
Atherosclerosis, the
clogging of the arteries can start early in
childhood if their diet is poor. To prevent
early heart disease a low-fat, low cholesterol
diet, and exercise is recommended.
Excessive cholesterol in
the blood will cause of Atherosclerosis. In
about 1 in 500 there is a rare inherited
disorder called familial hypercholesterolemia
that will cause high cholesterol. High
cholesterol is caused by fats found in plant
oils and fish. These fats are your
monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. It is
best to use margarine made from corn,
safflower and other unsaturated fats.
Researchers have found
that ample vitamin C, beta carotene, and other
antioxidants protect the cells against
Oxidation of LDL cholesterol (these are
unstable molecules that are released when the
body burns oxygen). Oxidation of LDL is the
plaque that is instrumental in initiating
atherosclerosis.
Vitamin E is the vitamin
that protects against heart disease. It also
has antioxidant properties and has the ability
to reduce the blood platelets from forming
into clots. A good source of vitamin
E comes from nuts, seeds, margarine, eggs (in
moderation), and vegetable oils.
We live in a fast pace
world where we often give more thought in
getting something to eat, rather than eating
something nutritious. It is recommended that
we protect our heart by adding heart health supplements (Vitacerin™)
to our daily regime.
It has been clinically
proven that our bodies will absorb 95% the
nutrients needed in liquid form verses 40% in
pill form. Adding good a supplement that
provides ant-oxidants to build up our immune
system (Immunzan™I) and (Entrasil™) to fight
free radical is something that is also
recommended.
How do we fight free
radicals, reduce heart attacks, and promote a
good heart rhythm and lowering high blood
pressure? It comes down to learning about our
bodies and what it needs to stay healthy and
then applying that education in our daily
lives
