Many people over the age of 40 make
appointments with their doctor, complaining
of being tired and feeling a lack of energy
Chronic fatigue among older people may be a
result of thyroid disease, diabetes,
hepatitis, and anemia. In young people, it is
usually caused by stress, anxiety, depression,
poor sleep, or poor eating habits, and the
lack of physical exercise.
When chronic fatigue interferes with your work
or your social life, or lasts for three weeks
or more, you should consult your doctor. A
simple blood test may detect the cause of your
fatigue.
Good news for most fatigue sufferers is you
don’t have to head for that rocking chair yet!
Here are some tips to get that'll put pep back in
your step:
- Take a good vitamin B-complex supplement (Entrasil™)
- Join the gym and exercise at least four
times a week
- Cut back on carbohydrates and eliminate
sugar from your diet
- Drink water instead of soda, at least 8
glasses of water a day
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables
- Lose weight. Even a small amount of extra
weight will make some people feel tried.
- Get plenty of sleep. Most Americans sleep
less than 8 hours a night. Just an extra 45
minutes of sleep will bring your energy level
up.
Many people simply overload their schedule,
causing fatigue. Often times people skip lunch, work through
their breaks just to get a job done! What they
don't understand is this causes people to be
less efficient. The key is to take your lunch
and breaks, this will recharge your battery so
you can become more productive.
