Famous People with ADHD - and ADD

When a child or adult has been diagnosed with
ADHD
(Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), they sometimes feel
different or inferior to others. ADHD often makes it seem impossible
for them to accomplish their dreams and goals.
More celebrities are revealing to the public that they have ADHD.
Many of them are setting examples for children and adults with ADHD.

Albert Einstein, one of the greatest minds of the last century, is
best known for developing the theory of relativity, he specifically
gave us the formula e=mc2 which is the mass energy equivalence
formula. Later doctors determined not only did he have ADHD he also
was diagnosed with dyslexia, and autism.
Michael Phelps, winner of 7 Olympic Gold medals in swimming. Sports
help Michael to develop time management skills, which are difficult
for ADHD children because of having a hard time focusing and keeping
still. Michael's mother Deborah Phelps states in an article in Good
Housekeeping, “ADHD children need parameters. There’s nothing better
for that than two lanes! Even if Michael’s mind was all over place,
he could focus on going up and down the pool. Plus, water itself has
a calming, soothing effect. The pool became a safe haven where he
could release his energy. It was finding his passion and channeling
his energy in that direction.” We learn from studies that its
important children with ADHD maintain a well balance
diet and participate in a
physical activity.
Thomas Edison is responsible for more than a thousand inventions
which includes the light blub, phonograph, motion picture camera,
and the telegraph to name a few. Thomas Edison is the third most
prolific inventor holding over 1,093 patents. He suffered from ADHD,
he couldn’t focus very well, had difficulties paying attention,
solving math problems, being patience, and he battled dyslexia.
Despite his ADHD symptoms he greatly influenced people and made the
world a better place to live through his inventions.

intelligent and successful people. They have inspired many by
dealing with ADHD symptoms daily.
Adults and
children need help to
understand their particular symptoms of ADHD so they can focus on
their talents and be positive that they too can accomplish their
future endeavors. Getting the right treatment will help them.
